The White House has ruled out a second meeting between US President Donald Trump and Russian counterpart Valdimir Putin, after US Secretary of State Marco Rubio spoke with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov over the phone.
The announcement came days after the US leader suggested a possible summit in the Hungarian capital, Budapest.
The Kremlin says it’s seeking a long-term settlement for the war in Ukraine.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy insists deep-strike capabilities are crucial in pressuring Moscow to agree to a peace process after he left the White House without securing a package for US Tomahawk missiles.
