Trump would-be assassin Ryan Wesley Routh attempted to stab himself following guilty conviction

Ryan Wesley Routh, the man who attempted to kill Donald Trump a second time, bizarrely tried to stab himself in the neck after being guilty.

Routh, the sniper who camped out near Trump’s golf course, was convicted after attempting to assassinate the presidential candidate last year.

Following Routh’s guilty verdict, the attempted assassin tried to stab himself with a pen before being stopped by courtroom marshals.

Routh was eventually returned to the courtroom, this time shackled, as the judge set a sentencing date for December 18, where he faces life in prison.

Jurors spent roughly only two hours finding Routh guilty of five federal charges of attempted assassination, assault on a federal officer and gun crimes.
