President Donald Trump welcomes counterpart Xi Jinping at the White House as the Chinese leader calls for closer collaboration between the two nations to avoid a military collision course.
Mr Trump says he had a ‘great meeting’ with his Chinese counterpart as part of the three day state visit.
The two superpowers are discussing security, competition and artificial intelligence.
It’s Xi’s first formal visit to Washington DC since 2015.
