Supreme Court delivers stunning blow to transgender athletes and upholds bans in schools
The US Supreme Court (SCOTUS) has upheld the ban on transgender athletes competing in girls’ or women’s teams in school sports.
SCOTUS’s decision upholds bans from Idaho and West Virginia, with the final vote coming in at 6-3, with all liberal justices dissenting.
Idaho was the first state to establish the ban on transgender athletes in female school sports in 2020, before West Virginia followed suit.
