A terrifying incident in North Maluku, Indonesia, unfolded when a 35-year-old man was swallowed whole by a massive 23-foot python while walking home through a dense forested path.
What Happened:
The Ambush: Around 3:00 AM, Hasim Lumbessy was walking home to Waisakai village after a night out when a giant python struck from the undergrowth, clamping down on his leg and constricting him before he could escape.
The Search: After Hasim failed to return, anxious family members searched the trail, discovering blood on the ground alongside his backpack, sling bag, and sandals.
The Discovery: Later that evening, villagers followed a trail of flattened grass deeper into the woods, where they found the grotesquely swollen, immobile 23ft python.
The Recovery: Local villagers cut open the reptile’s stomach to retrieve Hasim’s remains and return him to his family for final rites.
