More than 2,000 firefighters deployed as wildfires rage in France

It’s a race against time for firefighters in France and Spain as they face searing heat in the battle to contain wildfires tearing across both countries.

While the fire fight has stabilised for now, locals are warned the danger is far from over as another heatwave looms.

Almost every firefighter in France is currently in the southwest of the country.
