Korean pop group BTS pulls out of the Grammys following introduction of new category

Korean pop group BTS have withdrawn from the 2027 Grammy Awards after new categories were introduced.

All seven members uploaded an identical statement to social media, announcing the band’s withdrawal.

This comes after it was announced last month a new category would be added to the Grammy Awards for best Asian pop music performance.

The new category requires entries to make “meaningful use” of at least one Asian language.
