King Charles warns of AI’s ‘existential dangers’ without proper safeguards
Britain’s King Charles III has urged technology leaders to consider the “existential dangers” posed by rapidly evolving AI, warning the technology could be used in “potentially catastrophic ways” if it falls into the wrong hands.
“Surely then we need sufficient means of control before it is all too late,” he said.
The leaders of three of the world’s most advanced AI firms have said slowing down development could mitigate catastrophic risks, but experts have mixed views on whether this can be accomplished.
