A citizen journalist who gained rare access to Sydney’s underworld says he has found himself on a gangland “hit list” – and urged others in the firing line to heed police warnings.
Zaky Mallah runs SCN Worldstar, a social media outlet that emerged a few years ago and has largely focused on shootings, firebombings and kidnappings in the world of organised crime during a violent period in the Harbour City.
But Mr Mallah told news.com.au his reporting has made him a target, with Raptor Squad officers recently knocking on his door to inform him that “I was on a hit list”.
“They urged me to relocate immediately,” he said.
“Since then, I’ve been moving around Australia for my safety.”
Mr Mallah said he has been “constantly” moving between states and had even resorted to using drones to scan for threats before leaving his house.
He said police “uncovered intelligence indicating my life was under imminent threat” during an unrelated raid on a Sydney property.
