Former Foreign Minister Julie Bishop has resigned as Chancellor of the Australian National University in Canberra. For months, Ms Bishop had resisted pressure to resign following the resignation of the university’s Vice-Chancellor, Genevieve Bell. Her term as Chancellor had been due to expire at the end of the year.
