Former treasurer Peter Costello accuses Labor of attempting to ‘hide’ their true spending
Former treasurer Peter Costello blasts Labor for “fancy accounting”, accusing the party of trying to “hide” the true scale of their spending.
“There’s a lot of fancy accounting, very creative, that’s now been adopted,” Mr Costello told Sky News host Peta Credlin.
“Governments are basically trying to hide the level of expenditure, and so they’re engaging in what’s called, you know, off-the-books financing.
“The accounts are not nearly as clean as they used to be.”
