eSafety commissioner says the world will follow Australia’s lead on social media ban
Australia’s eSafety Commissioner Julie Inman Grant believes the under-16 social media ban is the “antidote” to “one of the greatest social experiments of our time on our young people”.
Grant said she expects teenagers to find “ingenious” ways to get around new safeguards, but the government is “playing the long game”, with future enforcement measures expected to target systemic failures.
