Dancers from around the globe compete in Buenos Aires tango contest

Dancers from across the globe have showcased their talents at the Buenos Aires Tango World Championship 2026, at Argentina’s premier tango event.

Argentine competitor Angeles Carrion performed with another female dancer to try to “take gender away from tango”, as she explained after her performance.

More than 800 couples are participating in various stages of the competition, with the finals to be held between 1 and 2 September.
