Cole Thomas Allen enters not guilty plea over alleged assassination attempt
The man accused of attempting to assassinate US President Donald Trump at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner has pleaded not guilty to the charges against him.
Cole Thomas Allen faces indictments including assault on a federal officer and attempted assassination, with the possibility of further charges being added.
His legal team has also filed a motion seeking to disqualify Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche and US Attorney for the District of Columbia Jeanine Pirro, citing their attendance at the event.
Mr Allen is scheduled to return to court for a status conference on June 29.
