Barnaby Joyce yells at dog during tense interview over Hanson’s appearance on far-right podcast

One Nation MP Barnaby Joyce appeared to snap at a dog that had been barking during a tense interview with the ABC’s 7.30 about the optics of Pauline Hanson’s meeting with far-right podcaster Tommy Robinson and appearance on his show.

Earlier, Joyce defended Hanson’s decision to meet with Robinson, saying: “I don’t think Pauline went over there with a … bio on Tommy Robinson.”

Joyce suggested that “Tommy Robinson would not exist if there wasn’t such a fracture, such a hate within English society”.

7.30 host Sarah Ferguson also suggested that Joyce’s “decision to defect to One Nation” was dragging him “further into a place of intolerance and racial discrimination”.

“You’re defending your leader, but are you really comfortable with where she’s taking you?“, she asked.

Joyce started to answer before yelling at the dog, which could be heard barking throughout — although the audio seemed to have been partially filtered out.
