Delhi police fire tear gas as thousands rally against Modi government

Tens of thousands of protesters marched in New Delhi on Monday demanding government reforms and the resignation of the country’s education minister, Dharmendra Pradhan.
They said they were met with police firing tear gas and wielding batons.
This protester said they were peaceful and unarmed, when suddenly there were scuffles with police.
He said women, children and elderly people were blinded by tear gas and nearly trampled.
Delhi police denied use of force, adding the “protest is being handled professionally.”
The demonstrators are part of the country’s youth-led Cockroach Janta Party, which has emerged as the biggest public challenge to Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his third term.
