Albanese Government scrutinised for hiding Cabinet documents from the Royal Commission

Former Home Affairs secretary Michael Pezzullo accuses the Albanese Government of trying to block the Royal Commission from accessing Cabinet documents.

“Given the resistance and reluctance the government showed earlier this year to even mount a Royal Commission … they are very reluctant to have these matters examined at the … of government decision-making,” Mr Pezzullo told Sky News host Sharri Markson.

“In order to establish the priority and focus that was afforded to counter terrorism, she has to be able to examine the funding, resources, and priority decisions that were made.

“You’ve got to wonder, having set up the Royal Commission, why would you try and hide them?”
