2025 Alaska megatsunami surged water to altitudes of 480 metres | ABC NEWS

A megatsunami that hit an Alaskan fjord last year surged water to altitudes of around 480 metres.
The tsunami was triggered by a massive landslide believed to have been caused by a retreating glacier.
During the summer, the area is visited by three cruise ships a day, some of which carry up to 6,000 people. Aram Fathian from the University of Calgary says it’s extremely lucky none were caught in the waves.
