Nirmeen Noufl has been sentenced to six years and nine months in jail for the manslaughter and dismemberment of her husband Mamdouh Noufl at their Greenacre home in May 2023. With time served, she is eligible for parole in October next year, potentially serving just 12 months more. The court heard Noufl endured years of sustained and serious domestic violence, with Justice Peter Hamill finding coercive control and her traumatic childhood reduced her criminal responsibility, though the victim’s family has expressed fury at the sentence and plans to appeal.
