‘We’re sorry’: OpenAI apologises after AI accesses Australian government websites


OpenAI has apologised after its artificial intelligence accessed government websites, admitting it needs to rebuild trust.

The concession came as the world’s biggest tech players faced a parliamentary grilling in Sydney over the power and risks of artificial Intelligence.

OpenAI Chief Strategy Officer Jason Kwon has apologised to Australians for the breach of privacy.

“We’re sorry for what’s happened and we’re here to talk about how we’re going to do better for Australia,” Mr Kwon said.

“That should not have happened. We also should have handled our response better.”
