Victorian Coalition to scrap state Treaty with Indigenous people if elected

Victoria’s liberal opposition will repeal the state’s first Treaty agreement with Indigenous people if elected.

The agreement aims to establish a rapport between the Victorian government and First Peoples.

It is expected that the proposed legislation will still pass with the support of Labor and the Greens.

The bill will be debated in state parliament on Wednesday, despite the Coalition’s disapproval.
