US man’s 1,064kg pumpkin wins contest
Think you’ve seen a big pumpkin? Think again.
A California engineer and gardening enthusiast has bagged the top prize at an annual pumpkin-weighing contest in Northern California after growing a pumpkin that weighs 1,064 kilograms or as much as an average small sedan.
“It’s very much a family affair,” said 2025 pumpkin champ Brandon Dawson.
“We like to spend time out in the patch and watch the thing grow.”
