US aircraft carrier approaches Venezuela in show of military force
The most advanced aircraft carrier in the United States military is approaching Venezuela.
Meanwhile, the White House is ramping up pressure on the South American country’s President, Nicolas Maduro.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said, “You have to disincentivise this industry that these terrorists are using to flood our country with heroin, with cocaine, with fentanyl.”
US military strikes in the Caribbean have targeted nearly two dozen suspected drug smuggling boats, killing more than 70 people.
