UN backs Trump Gaza plan | Poland condemns rail ‘sabotage’ | Ukraine signs historic jet deal
The UN Security Council has voted to adopt a US-drafted resolution endorsing President Donald Trump’s peace plan for Gaza, and authorizing an international stabilisation force in the Palestinian enclave.
The plan had already faced sharp criticism from far-right members of the Israeli government – with one calling for the ‘targeted assassination’ of senior Palestinian officials.
A Hamas spokesperson has reportedly said the group rejects the presence of foreign military personnel in Gaza, saying it would be exchanging Israeli occupation for ‘foreign guardianship’.
