An Australian man has died in Japan after he was buried under snow while skiing in Hokkaido.
Police have confirmed the man’s identity as Michael Jefferey Hurst, reportedly in his 20s.
The incident marks the second ski-related Australian death in Japan this snow season after 22-year-old Brooke Day died in hospital from critical injuries suffered when her backpack became caught on a ski lift.
