Trump would ‘love to’ run for president for an unconstitutional third term
United States President Donald Trump has said he would “love to” run for office for an unconstitutional third term, telling reporters: “I have my best numbers ever”.
He then ruled out running for vice president in the 2028 election, with some supporters suggesting another candidate could stand for election as president and resign, letting Trump again assume the presidency.
Trump has repeatedly flirted with the idea of serving beyond the constitutionally mandated two terms, joking about it at rallies and teasing supporters with “Trump 2028” hats.
