Trump gives ballroom tour on day after massive election losses
U.S. President Donald Trump visited the construction site of the new White House ballroom on Wednesday (November 4), praising workers and touting the building’s security features a day after Republicans suffered major losses in the midterm elections.
Speaking to construction workers, Trump said the ballroom would be “drone-proof,” “missile-proof” and “bulletproof,” claiming its reinforced roof could support multiple helicopters and that the structure would provide security for the president and visiting world leaders.
Trump, who said he found construction work relaxing, described the project as one of Washington’s future landmark buildings.
The tour came as Trump acknowledged that the Iran war had contributed to Republican losses in the midterm elections, while defending the conflict as necessary and saying he would make the same decision again.
