Trump denies falling asleep during ‘boring’ meeting: ‘I wanted to get the hell out’
US President Donald Trump has denied falling asleep at a December cabinet meeting after several images of him appearing to close his eyes flooded social media, blaming boredom.
“I didn’t sleep, I just closed them because I wanted to get the hell out,” Trump said.
Aged 79 and in his final term of office, Trump’s been eager to dispel questions about his vitality and his capacity to do the job.
Speaking to reporters, he said he doesn’t sleep much and added the images likely caught him mid-blink.
