‘The real deal’: Ann Widdecombe remembered for her passionate defence of British values
Reform UK Councillor Darren Grimes reflects on the legacy of former Conservative MP Ann Widdecombe following her tragic murder.
“For me, her legacy is actually wanting to fight for the right for people to be free to speak their mind,” Mr Grimes told Sky News host Rita Panahi.
“For many on the political left that went on to broadcasters … to speak about Ann’s personal life in the most grotesque way possible, she would have defended their right to do it.
“She was someone who believed passionately in the rights and values that our nation represents … she was the real deal.
“She was a fighter for this nation, fundamentally a patriot.”
