Perth Day Hospital has launched Supreme Court action against Fitness Cartel gym located directly above its facility in Osborne Park. The hospital claims loud music and the sound of dropping weights causes excessive vibrations that disrupt surgical procedures and patient treatment. The court has issued a temporary ban on loud music and weight training during weekday business hours, with a judge set to hear evidence from structural engineers before determining whether the 24-hour gym can continue operating at full capacity.
