Swedish election too close to call as far-right loses ground

Sweden’s general election remains too close to call, with the final result not expected until later this week.

Projected results have given the left-wing political bloc, led by the Social Democrats, a slim majority over the rival four-party coalition, put together by current conservative prime minister Ulf Kristersson.

The results also show support for the far-right anti-immigration Sweden Democrats has dropped for the first time.
