Swans AFL coach and captain speak publicly for first time after five players suspended
Sydney Swans AFL coach Dean Cox and Swans captain Callum Mills fronted the media for the first time since five of their players were suspended for the rest of the season.
The Swans have suspended Isaac Heeney, Chad Warner, Nick Blakey, Riley Bice and James Jordon for the remainder of the season for “breaching club standards” as a police investigation into a sexual assault allegation linked to these five players continues.
No charges have been laid by Victoria Police and SBS News is not suggesting any wrongdoing.
Cox apologised to the AFLW players and female staff of the Sydney Swans football club, and said that he hoped the women who have made the allegations “are getting the support they need”.
