‘Sussan Ley is our leader’: Liberal Senator denies there is a ‘challenge to the leadership’
Liberal Senator Jane Hume has denied that there is a challenge to the Liberal leadership.
This comes after Angus Taylor reportedly held talks with Andrew Hastie’s party room allies in a move to reunite the Liberal Party’s right faction ahead of a possible leadership spill.
“There is no challenge to the leadership. No one has put their hand up and said, ‘I would like to be leader, and I am challenging the current leader’,” Ms Hume told Sky News Australia.
“Sussan Ley is our leader, and we need to unite behind her and make sure that she has the support that she needs to present that credible alternative.”
