Australia’s housing market is experiencing significant declines, with national home values falling 0.9% in the latest month, marking the fifth consecutive monthly decline and a total drop of 3.6% from the March peak. Sydney leads the downturn with values dropping 7.1% below peak levels, while 93% of capital city suburbs are recording declines. Three of the big four banks are predicting another interest rate hike before year’s end, heavily impacting buyer sentiment ahead of the spring selling season.
