Starmer holding onto ‘superficial support’ of his party as his polling continues to plummet

Royal commentator Josh Rom says UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer is “one of the most unpopular prime ministers in history at the moment”.

“I think at the moment Sir Keir Starmer is trying to evoke a sense of stability, he has vowed to fight on, he’s vowed to keep on working,” Mr Rom told Sky News Digital Presenter Gabriella Power.

“Although he’s managed to hold on, his cabinet all have come out in support of him temporarily.

“He seems to be holding onto at least superficially the support of his party because I think none of them want the poison chalice.”
