Starmer condemns deadly Manchester synagogue attack
Two people were killed and three seriously injured after a car-ramming and stabbing attack on a synagogue in Manchester during Yom Kippur, the holiest day in the Jewish calendar.
Police said the attacker drove into pedestrians before launching the stabbing spree and was shot dead minutes after the first call.
Counterterrorism officials later declared it a terrorist incident and identified the suspect.
Condemning the attack, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer said, “a vile individual committed a terrorist attack” as he pledged greater security for the Jewish communities.
Greater Manchester mayor Andy Burnham also expressed solidarity with the Jewish community.
