Spain declares a national emergency as wildfires burn across the country

Spain has declared a national emergency as the country battles out of control wildfires.

Officials near Madrid say the fire is now beyond the capacity of crews to extinguish.

“The government has deployed all available resources. It will stand by your side during the emergency and in the recovery,” Spain’s Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez said.
