Renee Good’s brothers call violent ICE operations “beyond explanation”


The brothers of Renee Good, the 37-year-old woman who was shot and killed by an ICE officer in Minneapolis on 7 January, testified at a congressional forum on Tuesday, calling recent violent ICE operations “beyond explanation”.

“These encounters with federal agents are changing the community and changing many lives, including ours, forever,” Good’s brother Luke Ganger said.

Minneapolis has seen ongoing confrontations between protesters and heavily armed immigration agents, with unrest heightened after two US citizens were shot dead by federal officers – Renee Good on 7 January and Alex Pretti on 24 January.

Donald Trump’s administration has now announced the removal of 700 immigration officers from Minnesota.
