‘Really troubling’: UK police to be granted broader powers to restrict repeated protests
The UK government has announced that the police will be granted broader powers to put conditions and restrictions on repeat protests.
“Those types of protests with cumulative disruption for communities can attract the same conditions and restrictions that apply to other types of protests,” UK Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood said.
“This is not about a ban. This is about restrictions and conditions.”
Sky News host Caleb Bond claims there’s “justification” for the move, but raised the “really troubling” elements of it.
