Queensland police are investigating a shooting in Cairns after officers shot a man armed with knives and a woman in Mount Sheridan.
Both people were hospitalised and are now in a stable condition.
Queensland Police’s Assistant Commissioner Graeme Paine says there was an ‘incredibly dynamic situation’ where officers attempted to engage the man before he was shot.
