Passengers forced to abandon trip meant to last a lifetime

A luxury cruise ship partway through a years-long voyage around-the-world has suspended its journey due to rising fuel costs.

Passengers aboard the Odyssey cruise ship had the option to buy or rent rooms for a limited period or for life.

But in a twist reminiscent of its namesake, the years-long voyage has left participants stranded somewhere they didn’t expect to be.

Hundreds of passengers have been forced to depart in Cambodia, with the ship now docked at the port of Sihanoukville on the Gulf of Thailand, with no confirmed departure date.
