‘Orwellian in the extreme’: Climate Authority slammed for dismissing energy cost fears

News24 host Peta Credlin attacks the Climate Change Authority for branding concerns over energy costs, reliability and regional jobs as misinformation.

“The Climate Change Authority today says concerns about the cost of energy or the impact of renewables on regional communities are, quote, misinformation,” Ms Credlin said.

“It argues narratives seek to increase uncertainty about climate policies, technologies and solutions, focusing on the cost of living, energy prices and reliability, jobs, regional impacts, all of that; they’re asking whether this stuff should be reported on.

“It’s an inconvenient truth for them, but it’s facts.

“This is Orwellian in the extreme.”
