Orban loses power in Hungary landslide | US to blockade Iran ports | Israel presses Lebanon war

In one of Europe’s most consequential elections in decades, Hungarians have ousted long serving Prime Minister Viktor Orban and elected Peter Magya to lead the nation.

Mr Magya’s opposition Tisza Party secured at least 138 seats in parliament, while Mr Orban’s Fidesz Party alliance won just 55.

The far-right Mi Hazank Party secured six seats, at latest counting.

It brings an end to Viktor Orban’s 16 years in power, despite his endorsement from US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
