Older Australians struggle to get support under controversial assessment tool
Older Australians have expressed hope for change after the Commonwealth Ombudsman released scathing findings into a controversial aged care assessment tool, which uses an automated algorithm to determine funding and care levels.
The government has so far refused to commit to a key recommendation in full, which would allow humans to override a final inappropriate decision.
