The Australian teenager hoping to follow his father’s footsteps onto the Olympic handball court
The Australian National Handball Championships have begun today. Among the teams is an 18-year-old training to become an Olympian like his father.
Australia has never qualified for the Olympic handball competition at an away Games, but it will be able to compete at the 2032 Brisbane Olympics by virtue of being the host nation.
As a competitive sport, handball is most popular in Europe. European countries have won all medals but one in the men’s Olympic Games since the 1970s.
