NSW moves to tighten gun licensing rules with major funding injection

The New South Wales government is allocating nearly $40 million to the state’s Firearms Registry.

The funding is intended to support changes to licensing arrangements following the Bondi Beach terror attack.

It will also be used to implement parts of the reforms, including reducing the licence period from five years to two and enhancing background checks.
