Nipah virus prompts heightened border security in Asia as two cases detected in India
A number of Asian countries have stepped up border security after two cases of the rare but deadly Nipah virus were detected in India.
While the virus has not yet been detected in Australia, authorities are closely monitoring potential threats.
Nipah virus symptoms include fever, headaches, muscle pain, vomiting, sore throat, followed by dizziness, drowsiness, altered consciousness and neurological illness.
