UN warns of chaotic ‘supersized’ El Nino

The United Nations is warning of a “supersized” El Nino.

The climate pattern could be the strongest on record and last until at least February 2027, according to World Meteorological Organisation (WMO).

El Nino is a natural phenomenon developing in the Pacific Ocean, which allows warm water to spread and release heat into the atmosphere.

It can shift rainfall and temperature worldwide, fuelling weather conditions like droughts and typhoons.
