The Newcastle Writers Festival has confirmed Palestinian-Australian author Randa Abdel-Fattah will appear at the March event. She was originally invited last August but was later uninvited from the Adelaide Writers’ Week, scheduled for late February to early March. Despite the NSW Premier Chris Minns’s disapproval, the festival director denied that the state government pressured her to withdraw from the event.
