New York judge dismisses terrorism charges against Luigi Mangione

Terrorism charges against alleged killer Luigi Mangione have been dismissed by a judge in New York.

Prosecutors argued the 27-year-old’s fatal shooting of United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson was intended to intimidate health insurance workers.

He has been behind bars since his arrest last year, but is still facing second degree murder charges and eight other criminal counts.

A group of Luigi Mangione’s supporters gathered outside the Manhattan courthouse, cheering as the terrorism charges were dropped.

He will return to court in December.
